Trims & notes

• #4 metal zip 14 cm (fly)
• Trouser hook and bar
• 18L button (back pocket)
• Fusible (waistband and fly)
• Pocketing
• Woven label (back waistband)
• The inseam is the whole garment. At 22 cm on a 175 cm wearer this lands at the knee; anything under 18 cm reads as a chino short and loses the trend entirely. Fit it on a model, not a mannequin.
• Leg opening 32 cm against a 34 cm thigh is only a 2 cm taper. That near-straight line is deliberate — taper it further and it reads as golfwear.
• Grade the rise by 1 cm only. Rise grades far less than waist, and this is the mistake that makes large sizes look wrong on a fit model.
• Garment-wash once, not twice. A second wash at 300 GSM takes the crease retention out and the short goes soft.
• Ask for a shrinkage test before cutting. Cotton twill at this weight moves 3-4% on the length and the knee break is unforgiving.
