Trims & notes

• 1.2 cm clear elastic (shoulder seams, ~30 cm)
• Woven label (inside back neck, soft-edge)
• Care label (side seam, 15 cm above hem)
• Every width on this chart is the RELAXED measurement and the chart has to say so. 2x2 rib at this gauge stretches roughly 40% — a factory that measures it stretched will cut a dress nobody can get into, and this is the single most common failure on a rib spec.
• Heat-set and compact the rib before cutting. Without it the dress grows through the day, and on a 118 cm length that reads as a hem that drops.
• Clear elastic in both shoulder seams is not optional on a 280 GSM rib carrying 118 cm of fabric. The shoulder is the only thing holding the weight.
• Cut the neck binding at 88% of the neckline length and specify the ratio, not just a length, or the grade drifts and the neckline gapes at the larger sizes.
• The centre-back vent is a walking allowance, not a style line. A fitted 42 cm hem at calf length without it shortens the wearer's stride.
• Match the rib wales across the side seams. Mismatched wales are the detail that makes a rib garment look homemade, and it costs nothing but a cutting instruction.
